Karl Rosenfield Peony

The Peony 'Karl Rosenfield', 'Paeonia', a fall planted bulb, produces magnificent bright red flowers that are stunning in the garden and superb for cut flowers. During late spring-early summer, they fill the garden with fragrance. They also produce superb, long lasting cut flowers. They will bloom 3 to 4 weeks in late spring. Staking is recommended. Peonies attract butterflies and are great cut flowers and borders. They are also deer, rabbit, and squirrel resistant.


Sarah Bernhardt Peony

The Peony 'Sarah Bernhardt', 'Paeonia', a fall planted bulb, is one of the most popular Double Peonies. This gorgeous variety produces large, soft pink flowers, of perfect form with a delightful fragrance. They produce superb, long lasting cut flowers. During late spring-early summer, they fill the garden with fragrance. Peonies usually take a few years to establish and bloom heavily. Staking is recommended. Peonies attract butterflies and are great cut flowers and borders. They are also deer, rabbit, and squirrel resistant.


Persian Fritillaria

The Persian Fritillaria, 'Fritillaria persica', is a fall planted bulb. The impressive Crown Imperial has a bundle of bell-like flowers all around the stem and a whimsical crown of green leaves. The pendulous flowers make a bold statement in the garden. It is by far the most well-known species and also one of the earliest plants to be cultivated. Mark the location of the bulbs to avoid any damage when digging or raking. The Persian Fritillaria blooms in mid to late spring for a 3 week period. These plants are deer, squirrel, and rabbit resistant.


Pink Buttercups

The Pink Buttercups, 'Oxalis adenophylla', a fall planted bulb, forms thick carpets of bright, deep pink flowers. The flowers are not the only attractive part of the plant. The finely incised greenish-gray leaves only add to Oxalis adenophylla's beauty. Oxalis adenophylla originates from Chili and Argentina where it grows high up in the mountains. This plant is also known as Chilean Wood Sorrel, Silver Shamrock, Pink Carpet Oxalis, Pink Sauerklee, and Sandoxalis. They prefer well drained soils. They do not winter well in wet soils.

The Ranunculus 'Mixed Colors', 'Ranunculaceae', a fall planted bulb, produce wonderful cut flowers. Autumn planting is ideal in regions with mild winter climates. The Ranunculus Mixed Colors produces lovely pink, yellow and red flowers. Ranunculus are great for borders, beds, container plants, and cut flowers. They begin to bloom in early summer and go for weeks. Place them in well drained soil.

The Snowdrop, 'Galanthus Nivalis', is a fall planted bulb. Snowdrops are probably the very first flowers to peep their heads through the ground at the end of the winter, as soon as the snow melts. The small nodding, milky white flowers are bell-shaped and have green spots. They arise in frosty ground, multiplying freely over time. If clumps become too crowded, lift and divide them into smaller groups in late spring. They are great for indoor forcing, rock gardens, containers, mass planting, and borders. They are rabbit, deer, and squirrel resistant.


Mixed Colors Spanish Bluebells

The Spanish Bluebells 'Assorted Colors', 'Hyacinthoides hispanica ', is a fall planted bulb. These Spanish Bluebells produce elegant flowers with a heavenly, sweet perfume. This is one of the tallest-growing Scilla species. Hanging from the sturdy, round flower stalks are lots and lots of broad, bell-shaped flowers. Bluebells bloom for a 3 week period in late spring/early summer. These plants are deer, rabbit, and squirrel resistant. Spanish Bluebells are great for mass planting, containers, rock gardens, and borders.

The Sparaxis or Harlequin flower, 'Sparaxis', a fall planted bulb, produces lovely mixed colored flowers including orange, white, yellow, red, purple, and pink.
